Astons Pavilion & Recreation Ground

The Astons Pavilion & Recreation Ground

A wonderful community asset, the recreation ground is situated in the picturesque village of Aston Tirrold, nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Downs.

The modern, multi-functional Pavilion was built in 2009 and comprises a main entertaining area, a large, fully equipped kitchen, toilets, disabled access, changing rooms and showers. In summer, the stunning veranda gives further space for entertaining. There is plenty of parking.

The Pavilion offers a unique venue for children’s parties, family events, meetings, clubs, classes, receptions and parties of up to 50 seated, or 100 standing guests. We offer free use of tables and chairs, crockery, glassware and cutlery for 50; additional quantities can be provided by arrangement. Catering can be also be arranged through local companies.

The Recreation Ground boasts a newly refurbished playground, a hard surface play area, a boules pitch, a zip wire, a grass football pitch and a cricket square, both of which are available for hire. There are large open spaces with wide views over the countryside and delightful walks in every direction. Hirers are able to use the outdoor space for games and bouncy castles.

We also have outdoor lighting and gazebos which can be hired at  additional cost.

(The recreation ground is owned by the Parish Council of Aston Tirrold & Upthorpe, and is managed on its behalf by a sub committee of the Council - the Astons Recreation Committee (ARC). ARC minutes can be seen on the Council main pages).

Regular bookings.

The Pavilion is used regularly for clubs and classes. We are always happy to take on new organisations, so please get in contact to discuss your needs. We will endeavour to offer assistance to a wide range of sporting, arts, baby and children’s clubs.
