The North Wessex Down AONB

The North Wessex Downs AONB

The North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a unique and spectacular landscape that includes tranquil open downland, ancient woodland and chalk streams in the centre of southern England.

The parishes of Aston Tirrold and Aston Upthorpe are both within the North Wessex Downs AONB at it's most North Eastern point.

The primary purpose of AONB designation is to conserve and enhance that natural beauty. This is the responsibility of the local authorities covering the AONB.

Landscape encompasses everything – both natural and human - that makes an area special, including the places and people who live and work there.
