Astons ultrafast broadband project

Latest news (April 2023)

Most of the Astons premises have been given access to ultrafast broadband fibre cables by Openreach.  Premises in and around Thorpe Street will be be given access by the end of April.  This will mark completion of the Astons Full Fibre project.

The project enables all premises in Aston Tirrold and Aston Upthorpe parishes to enjoy the fastest broadband currently available and any future improvements.

Carrimers, Upper Hill, Lower Hill farms and associated premises will have access to ultrafast broadband fibre through another Oxfordshire programme which is currently being rolled out:

Five Aston Tirrold residences near South Moreton are connected to Didcot telephone exchange not the Blewbury exchange like the rest of us. We understand that the Moretons have a similar full fibre project and we’ve asked for these five premises to be included.

Astons Full Fibre project has been coordinated by a steering group:

Tracey Briggs - project overseer
Bruno Brunskill - Oxfordshire CC liaison
Neil Carter - Parish Council liaison
Laura Cubiss - technical architect
Kathryn Hawkey - community liaison
Henry Weeks - Parish Council liaison

The steering group has collected some personal data from Astons residents.
