The Government has announced that ‘Track & Trace’ is now live and that we are moving into the next phase of cautious lockdown easing. The Astons Covid-19 Response Team remains active, so if you are required to quarantine, do get in touch and we can arrange errands and shopping to be done for you. Please note that as things move to the ‘new normal’ we are planning to reduce the frequency of these updates to every two weeks, rather than weekly, and our response time on the phone/email is now within 48 hours.

Volunteers Continue to Help
Another 15 errands were carried out last week by some of 95 wonderful volunteers. With many volunteers still to be called on, do get in touch if you need an errand running, shopping collected or simply a phone call.

Financial Support Available
Thanks to a grant from SSE, we are now also able to offer financial support to those in need, be that shopping, electricity bills or educational resources. Do get in touch now or in the weeks ahead if you need help. Please rest assured that your enquiry will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

Walking Maps
History Group has put the Astons Walkabout, an interesting summary of the history for those walking around the villages, on the village website. Well worth having a look. If you would like a hard copy please email the History Group.

Tree works around the villages
The PC has been informed by OCC Highways that it has undertaken an arboricultural survey of highway trees in Aston Tirrold and Upthorpe and will be carrying out works to the trees in the near future. This includes trees adjacent to the roads on public land. Trees within gardens are the householder’s responsibility, even if they hang over the road.

Please Drive Carefully
A number of incidents have been reported of cars speeding through the villages. With more people walking and cycling round the villages, particularly children, the PC would like to remind everyone to stay below 20mph and proceed with extra caution.

Don’t forget…
The Villages Facebook Group includes regular updates on what is going on in and around the villages. See the for details about the running club (well done to Tracy for completing 10 runs),  for the Sports Quiz email Henry and virtual church services here.
